Discover the 24 original projects from about 13 different countries pitched live for funding and industry leaders’ insight at Asian Side of the Doc 2018
Four pitching sessions across the week (Tuesday, January 30 – Friday, February 2, 2018) have seen creative teams from Asia and beyond pitch their projects in development, in front of 80+ international decision makers and distributors, guided by expert moderators Rudy Buttignol, Chiara Bellati, Leh Chyun Lin.
The 8th Asian Side of the Doc co-production platform provides pitchers with pre-arranged one-to-one meetings with leading commissioners and potential co-producers attending the market, to get straight into creative and financial discussions.
On Friday, February 2nd, in Bangkok, awards have been given to the presentations which most impressed our international jury in each following category:
- Best International Project: Invitation for one person to Sunny Side of the Doc 2018 (22-25 June) in La Rochelle including a 4-day delegate pass, a pitch selection for the winning project, travel and accommodation for 5 nights. Sponsored by Tourism Authority of Thailand.
- Best Asian Project: Invitation for one person to attend the West Lake International Documentary Film Festival in October 2018 in Hangzhou (China) including one accreditation, travel and accommodation. Sponsored by West Lake International Documentary Festival.
- Best ASEAN Project: Invitation for one person to Sunny Side of the Doc 2018 (25-25 June) in La Rochelle including a 4-day delegate pass, the registration of the winning project, travel and accommodation for 5 nights. Sponsored by Thailand Docs Group.
- NBCUniversal Archives Award: Value of US$3000 to license archival content from NBCUniversal Archives for one project pitched at Asian Side of the Doc 2018 (prize must be used by December 31, 2019).
